Anne, this book looks amazing!! I just placed my pre-order and I cannot wait to receive it. I know your cookbook will not only contain fantastic recipes but I am looking forward to the history behind all of these wonderful recipes. You make cooking and baking so interesting and fun, and I truly appreciate all the effort you have poured into your craft.

Just ordered three books! These will make great gifts! I LOVE that you connected these well loved, time tested recipes to their original sources, then painted a picture for us by sharing the stories. No doubt the recipes will be as delicious as your descriptive text is revealing. Thank you for creating this historic record!

I just ordered your new cookbook and I am very excited about receiving and cooking from your latest cookbook. I have most of your cookbooks and the recipes never fail. Every recipe that I have tried is outstanding. Earlier this year I emailed you about your pink champagne cake and I want to tell you that it was a great success at the birthday party that I took it to. I used Moët and Chandon champagne and it worked very well. I decorated the cake with a cascade of pink modeling chocolate roses and fresh mint leaves. I wish you great and well deserved success with your latest book.

Dear Anne,

This is a love-letter to Southern Baking! How wonderful and enticing to read. This was a timely email that I received this morning from Between the Layers. It was such a comfort to read and re-read it several times to make sure I missed nothing. It's been a challenging couple of weeks in our home as our adult oldest daughter (Christine, 43) (who lives in the same town as us with her husband and daughters) has been experiencing yet another serious flare up of her long-term chronic illness. My husband and I are always worried about her, but when she is hurting it is even more hard to watch. I bake a lot of treats for them and many of the recipes I use are from you! Baked goods are usually a good way to get a smile out of my daughter, her husband Jonathan and the granddaughters!!
